MAIN LAKE

This lake has 48 pegs and is used for fishing matches although pleasure anglers are able to use the lake on a Tuesday and a Thursday.

There are Roach, Perch, Bream, Tench, Carp and ide with match winning weights of up to 160lb.

BACK LAKE  (SPECIMEN LAKE)

The lake is approximately 9.5 acres in size and has many features and islands for the Carp and fisherman alike. We have a great head of carp from stunning Common Carp, clean and scaled up Mirror Carp to Ghost Carp and Koi Carp. We also remove the high doubles from the match lake each year and relocate them in the specimen lake. As a result of this we have a lot of mid to high teens carp with a quite a few over 20lb and over 30lb. The lake also has Pike, Perch, Tench, Roach, Bream and Eels although we are trying to fish out the bream and nuisance fish and we are relocating them to the match lake. We now have 7 outstanding fishing pegs that do vary from single to treble pegs for those that like to socialise with friends while fishing and all of which are spacious and chipbarked for added convenience. This means that the lake can now support a maximum of 15 anglers at anyone time.

A series of upgrades began in Jan 2014 to re-vamp the pegs and peg placements on our specimen lake and the new pegs are now listed in “The Pegs” tab. All the pegs are designed for both day and overnight sessions. You can see pictures of the upgrades as they happened and how they are now with pictures of the swims to fish too from the drop down menu on “The Pegs” tab. This page will also tell you the maximum number of anglers per peg that is allowed.

The back lake is available for pleasure fishing every day except bank holidays (children 16 years and under must be supervised by a responsible adult ).

There are only 7 pegs with some accommodating double bivvies making total capacity to hold 13 anglers on approx 9.4 acres of water ! The  lake has a mixed variety of fish as above with weights up to 30lb .

Richard has issued a challenge to all anglers fishing the lake. There are 2 orange Koi’s in the lake, the smaller of which has been caught around 5-6times now and weighing in around the 12lb mark. The larger yellow orange Koi has “NEVER” been banked and is estimated to be between 15-18lbs. The first person to bank the big Koi will get a years free fishing from the date of the capture. The capture will need to be verified by one of us.

24hr Fishing is by invite only and requires a Night Fishing Permit.

We ask you to do a couple of day sessions first so we can get to know you ensuring youre a safe and responsible angler as the lake is situated in the middle of Wetlands Animal Park.

We would then offer a night permit at an annual cost of £39.

Night Permits are valid for 12mths from the day of purchse and all monies raised through this scheme is being reinvested in new fish.

Day tickets will not be sold after 1030am (Animal Park is open) on the day.

24hr+ will be available from 7am – 7pm as the gates close at 7pm.
