The reservoir is a popular day ticket fishing venue for mixed (course and trout)  containing pike to 34 lb and bronze bream to 14 lb. As well as being a public day ticket water, rights to fish Wierwood reservoir are shared by East Grinstead A.S, Crowborough and District Anglers Association, Dorset Arms Angling club and Rookery Angling club.

Trout stocking has now stopped on this water due to low numbers of fishermen targeting the trout. There is a large stock of both brown and rainbow trout in the water and they are still taking the fly. Well worth fishing for!
