This fishing spot is located at the now completely abandoned Vaal Nature Reserve. This resort was built in the 1980’s as a fishing and camping resort but was abandoned and never used. For many years it was locked and no access was allowed. The buildings were preserved. It seems that it has now been completely abandoned, there is free access and the buildings are falling into ruin.

The Fishing is good and typical for the Vaal Dam. There is about 3km of water frontage which is smooth, sandy and accessible.
