Located on the River Teviot, approximately 1 1/2 miles upstream of Kelso, Upper Roxburgh is an attractive beat starting above the Kelso Angling Association water and finishing at the viaduct at Roxburgh village.
The beat is 1.34 miles of double bank fishing with 10 pools ranging from 4 – 10 feet deep, with the best fishing in the higher water in the autumn. Fishing is from the bank and by wading with most of the fishing from the north bank. There is a fishing hut on the nort bank adjacent to the main parking area with a gas fire so will offer a warm retreat from the worst of weather.
A ghillie can be arranged if required – please contact the Estate Office.
There are paths along the beat but it is not suitable for less able guests. The beat is let on a daily basis for 4 rods.
