Lower Invercauld is a truly beautiful stretch of the river Dee. The beat covers about seven miles of river from Balmoral Bridge at Crathie to the junction with the River Gairn downstream, all on the left bank.

There are forty named pools. The variety and the length of the beats means there are usually always pools fishable whatever the weather conditions and river level. The fishing is divided into three one-rod beats rotating each day at 5pm.
