Fishing is from the car park’s seawall or the beach below, expect all year sport, with the opportunity to catch cod, whiting and dab in winter and Summer offering the potential of bass, flounder, eel, sole, and dogfish.

Mid-September through to the end of November offers the best cod sport and there is a second run from March to May. Summer fishing starts when the second run of codling starts to slow and continues until September. Two hours either side of high water offers the best fishing.

BEST BAITS

Lugworms and squid for cod. Best summer baits are lug and peeler crabs.

TACKLE

Cod can be caught at short distances as well as at long distance during the winter. Try a Pennell rig 

with a 3ft-4ft snood and size 3/0 hooks.

Summer fishing offers good sport close in and a three-hook flapping rig is all you need.
