This lake was once an old gravel pit which has depths ranging from 6ft down to 40ft, so location is the key to catching on this venue. There are plenty of underwater features to fish to, including bars, ledges and shelves, and during the warmer months there is an abundance of weed in the shallower areas of the lake, which provides plenty of natural food for the Carp.
Not a great deal is known about the original stock but present numbers are now estimated at 120, with a wide variety of Carp ranging from sparsely scaled mirrors to fully scaled mirrors, linears and commons.
Five Acre Lake is a ’Members Only’ venue.
Membership is currently full with a long waiting list, so at this moment in time we are not taking on new members.
All fishing must now be booked on.
(Day carp anglers welcome)
If you just turn up you will be asked to leave.
1. Environment agency rod licence required.
2. Barbless hooks only.
3. No fixed leads. (we may ask to check your rigs to make sure they are safe)
4. No carp sacks or keepnets.
5. Minimum of 12lb main line.
6. Unhooking mats must be used.
7. Minimum 36″ landing net.
8. A carp care kit must be carried and used on all captures (a basic kit available on site – £5)
9. No Dogs as we have our own dogs on site
10. No radios except with an ear piece.
11. No Tents – Bivies & Brollies only.
