Ferryboat Farm Fishery is a mature horseshoe shaped lake, over 3 acres in size and offers a good peg selection with widths varying from 16m to some thirty plus metres, and with plenty of room between you and the person in the next peg, there are 50 of them to choose from.

The water dates back as far as the early 1800’s and was once part of the River Don. The water has an average depth in most places of about 6 ft.

Originally the land was owned by Yorkshire Electric and sported a cricket ground in the centre that still stands to the day. Many anglers take the family and make a picnic and have a grand day out. The old cricket pavilion has been turned into a café and a toilet block. There are now caravan and camping facilities on site, if you want to make your stay longer. The water is suitable for anglers with disabilities.

There are carp up to the mid doubles, but mainly they average around the 3lb mark, with the occasional one coming out at 8 – 10lb. There are also some crucians (to 3lb 2oz), and skimmers, together with roach and rudd. A number of silver fish are regularly removed to ensure that there is a healthy balanced environment. There are also some very good tench in here up to and around the 10lb mark.

Open 7am to 8pm all year.

Caravan site open from 1st of April till 31st of October each year.
