There are many Resorts around Bronkhorstspruit Dam. My Personal Favourite is Nature Reserve. This is for the better word a fishing and camping site with some wild life running around. There are ablutions available but sadly these are not very well kept. You do however have toilet facilities and showers when there is running water, please don’t expect hot water, ever. Please note I do not recommend The Nature Reserve as a Family resort as it is not. 
Nature reserve is however a fabulous fishing spot. If you are a hardened Angler who loves to rough it up a little then Bronkies Nature Reserve is for you. Please do note that Open fires on the ground are not permitted. There are a lack of Braai facilities so it is recommended that you take your own cooker , may it be a Braai, Gas cooker etc. Gate opens and closes at 6H00 am and 18H00 pm. No Pets are allowed at all or any time!

Bronkies can get the better of any angler who does not work for his fish. Bass anglers can fish all year round with good results on most trips. Carp Anglers will need to get to know the waters first. Nearing the end of summer you encounter water grass. If you do not select your fishing spot with care you might just end up frustrating yourself and not catching any fish. Certain areas have snags and as a general rule I advise any carp angler to use a Baby shoes rig with sliding hook link. Or fish with one Hook only.

Recommended Baits: Early Morning soft sweet scents like Caramel. If the wind picks up switch to stronger baits like Garlic ,onion etc. At night you will find that the tempo dies down completely. Bronkies is for a better word a day dam when it comes to carp angling. Spring is when you need to fish the reeds as the spawning carp will give you one hell of a fight.
