Hi, I'm new to this forum but think it's brilliant. Been fishing over 50 years, started on the Hull docks with an handline :-) then local park lakes (illegally!) and as soon as I could scrape the money together I bought some proper gear and used to bike to places like Bakers pond in Newport and the quarry pits at Brandesburton. I just loved fishing and every weekend would start with a trip into town to get maggots and a new float and hooks etc. then dig some worms Saturday night and get the gear ready for the Sunday trip to wherever. Progressed onto match angling in my later years with quite a bit of success, fishing matches in Denmark and Ireland (a place I came to love) and a bit of team fishing, all of which really honed my skills as an angler. Still love the game and three or four of us have a knock-up now and then to see who is the best, which is great fun!! Best wishes to all on here and TIGHT LINES, Cheers Tom :-)
