Summer fresh water days on a lake close to home …..bass have been hiding from me lately but managed to find cat fish and bluegill on the 5 wt. fly rod ……8-20-16

Summer fresh water LM bass days . 7/6/16

Been out on the water last 2 weeks with a lot of slow days but managed to find some more small Halibut and yesterday 4 small bass …..I have started targeting and tying flies for Mullet ….. They are really big and are swimming in packs of 20 up and along the shore in the lagoons Im fishing . If anyone has any tips on what flies the eat let me know and send a pic . I have been tying a algae fly and a bread fly as well as a little blood worm so far I have been hit on the Algae fly but no takers yet …… ok have fun out there !!

managed to find another small Halibut out there today in one of the local lagoons I always fish , pretty slow going out there . landed him on a white minnow fly in stripping mode on my 5 wt. fly rod .

well I dug out a old , cheap helmet cam today and dusted off the spider webs and strapped it to my fishing cap and it works ….. Fish were very camera shy thou so no fish footage (HA) ! So will try again this week and hopefully the bass and halibut will make an appearance so I can make them famous …… ; )

Tied up some shrimp flies yesterday and fished a lagoon I visit regularly and 1st and 2nd cast fish on ….. The 3rd got away . they were little spotted bay bass, but glad the flies worked . will try them out again today at a different lagoon where I have found bigger fish before …..

Last couple days been wading and paddling the canoe around in the inlets of lagoons flowing to the beach and found some small halibut and salt water bass …. also tied up some new flies that worked well / white , Orange were the flavors of the week . out going tide and throwing streamers into a channel flowing pretty fast at 4′ ft. to 8′ ft. deep ….. landed 6 halibut and 1 bass , all were very small but fun to catch . the search continues for the bigger fish in this new area I just started to fish ( Lagoon / River ) ….. ok have fun !!
